Here's an itinerary for a 6-day tour from Casablanca via de Sahara desert, but keep in mind that we can completely customize it to fit your available days, preferences and budget.
Embark on an unforgettable 6-day journey from the bustling streets of Casablanca to the majestic dunes of Merzouga. Explore ancient cities, traverse stunning landscapes, and immerse yourself in the rich culture of Morocco. This adventure promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Day 1: Casablanca - Rabat - Meknes - Fes
We will start our 6-day tour by picking you up from your accommodation in Casablanca. Then, we will go to Rabat to visit the Kasbah of Oudaya, the Chellah Kasbah, and the Hassan Tower. It is an incomplete mosque intended to be the largest minaret in the world.
We will head on the road to Meknes and there, we will explore the great gate of Bab Mansour, and the Roman site of Volubilis, the well-preserved Roman empire dating back to 225 BC, where you will see the most beautiful mosaics of Morocco dating back to the 3rd century.
From there, we will go to Fes, where we will spend the night in a riad.
Day 2: Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Merzouga
In the morning, we will head to Midelt through the Atlas Mountains and the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. We will pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort, and Azrou, an important handicraft center specializing in cedar woodworking where we will be able to see the macaque Monkeys in their normal habitat.
We will arrive in Midelt for lunch. After lunch, we will travel to Erfoud and the desert.
Once you reach the Erg Chebbi dunes, a little off-road will take you to the edge of the golden dunes, where the camels are waiting for you, Your luggage will be loaded into the four-wheel drive vehicle and taken to the camp, and you will be able to experience a beautiful camel ride through the dunes and admire the majestic Sahara sunset on the way to the camp.
Upon arrival at the place, you will be greeted with tea and smiles. They will accompany you to the beautifully comfortable private tents, equipped with bathrooms and showers, where you can relax and unwind before dinner.
After dinner, the fire will be lit, and a festive atmosphere will reign with the music of the staff and guests under the starry desert night.
Day 3: The Sahara desert, Merzouga
Wake up early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the dunes and watch as the desert comes alive.
After breakfast, enjoy a 4x4 ride through the dunes to the amazing village of Khamlia, where you’ll be able to experience the unique Gnawa music played by locals.
Later on, head to visit a Nomad family and eat a tasty Berber pizza with them.
Afternoon optional activities include Sandboard or Quad ride in the dunes to watch the sunset from the middle of the desert.
Optional overnight stay include: spend the night in the Desert Camp again or in a cozy Riad/Hotel in the city of Merzouga overviewing the Sahara desert dunes.
Day 4: Merzouga - Rissani - Todgha Gorges - Dades Gorges
After breakfast, we will leave Merzouga Desert, and stop in Rissani, where we will visit the day market (Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday).
Back on the paved roads, we will head to Erfoud, known for its fossil mining. From there, we will drive through a Palm Grove and the Savannah Desert. We will stop for lunch and then take a short walk around Todra Gorges, "the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco."
You will have the opportunity to hike along its valley. We will also cross the Dades Valley, where you will see the majestic sand castles and the beautiful rock formations known as "monkey fingers."
Overnight stay in a riad or a hotel in the heart of the gorge.
Day 5: Dades Valley - Boutaghrare - Skoura - Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we will drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat M'gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through the Dades Valley is called the way of the thousand kasbahs, which offers numerous opportunities to take some of the best photographic shots of the trip.
We will stop at Kalaat M'gouna, and continue to Skoura, where you will visit the Ameridil Kasbah, a well-preserved Kasbah in this area. Lunch will be at a traditional Moroccan restaurant overlooking the beautiful valley.
Then you will head to Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night in a riad with dinner and breakfast.
Day 6: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech
We will start from Ouarzazate. It is known as the Hollywood of Africa and we will stop at the Atlas film studios.
Then, head to the UNESCO World Heritage site of "Ait Ben Haddou,". This Kasbah is one of the many places that has served as a natural setting for many films like "Alexender, Gladiator, Game of Thrones..." We will have lunch at a local restaurant.
Then, we will head to Marrakesh through the Tizi N'Techka pass and we will terminate our 6-day tour from Casablanca by transfering you to your accommodation in Marrakech or the airport.
